Design is a state of mind. To design is to have a sense of the whole while making one's part, whether that part be a slick piece of code or a tasty graphic. The stronger the design in all aspects, the more fruitful the product, as multimedia is, by nature, collaborative. Conversely, the stronger the collaborative spirit, the more creative the design, because all voices will have contributed from the start.
